This form is to be used to apply for access to TasNetworks restricted areas including substations and transmission lines, and to apply for the defined tasks authorisation.

To access TasNetworks restricted areas additional training may be required. We will contact you to confirm the training you need before access is granted.

Once your application has been approved you may also be required to complete onsite inductions. These inductions will be arranged by your team leader, job manager, or project manager.

There are two types of access:

  1. Standard access – this is for project work, and short duration access. Access will only be granted to the person in charge. Note that keys are not transferable.
  2. Unaccompanied access – this will only be granted for continuous work. This access is granted to an individual and is not transferable.

Authorisation to access a restricted area does not automatically grant approval to perform work. You will also require either an Access Authority or the appropriate Defined Task Authorisation (applications are made through this form).

Please allow two weeks for the application to be processed. If training and inductions are required additional time should be allowed.

For more information please refer to the Restricted Area Access Standard and the Defined Task Standard.

IMPORTANT:

Authority to enter a restricted area does not automatically entitle persons to carry out work. The majority of work within a restricted area is controlled by an Access Authority issued in accordance with the Power System Safety Rules. Some tasks may be completed as a defined task, however defined task authorisation is required. Before carrying out any work individuals must ensure that they are issued with the correct Access Authority or Defined Task and have received an On-site Environmental and Safety Induction.

I Acknowledge the Requirements.*
