    Roger has extensive experience in the electricity, water and associated infrastructure development and construction sectors. He is a highly experienced company Director and also consults globally providing renewable energy advice.

    He is currently President of the International Hydropower Association (UK), Chair of TasNetworks, a Non-Executive Director of Pacific Hydro (Aust.), Upper Hunter Hydro and São Simão Energia S.A. (Brazil), and Chair of the expert Technical Review Panel for Queensland Hydro.

  • Katherine Schaefer - Non-Executive Director

    Kathy is an experienced non-executive director and former senior government executive with over 30 years’ experience working across Government portfolio areas of economic and industry development, infrastructure and major projects delivery, tourism, education, training and employment, land use planning and local Government.

    Kathy is currently a non-executive Director on the Sustainable Timber Tasmania Board, a nonexecutive Director of Cradle Coast Authority, a Commissioner on the Tasmanian State Grants Commission, a Divisional Council Member for AICD Tasmania and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee for the Department of Treasury and Finance Tasmania. Kathy holds a MBA from the University of Adelaide, a Bachelor of Education (BEd) and a Graduate Diploma in English as a Second Language Teaching from the Brisbane College of Advanced Education and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2016, Kathy was awarded the Public Service Medal in the Australia Honours and Awards System.

  • Miles Smith – Non-Executive Director

    Miles is an experienced executive who has worked internationally in the energy and mining sectors. Miles has had a diverse commercial career spanning strategy, analysis, finance, business-development and information technology. This included a stint with Transend Networks in 1999 and at Hydro Tasmania from 2003 – 2017 in a number of roles including Chief Financial Officer.

    Miles is currently Chair of UTAS Nexus Aquasciences Pty Ltd, a Director of the Hobart City Mission Foundation and a member of the Tasmanian Council of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Miles is also Chief Investment Officer of UTas Innovation Ventures and an active volunteer in the State Emergency Service.

    Miles holds a Bachelor of Commerce, honours in Science and a Graduate Diploma of Environmental Management. Miles is also is a Fellow of CPA Australia, a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is on the AICD national reporting committee.

  • Kevin Kehl – Non-Executive Director

    Previously an executive leader at Powerlink Queensland and Energex, Kevin has more than 40 years’ experience in the energy industry across the distribution and transmission networks sector. Kevin has held senior leadership roles in the energy sector, including twelve years in chief and senior executive management positions across business and market development, change, policy, strategic, regulatory, finance, customer and stakeholder relations, operations and governance functions.

    Kevin holds a BE (Hons) in electrical engineering and a Graduate Certificate in Electricity Supply Engineering. His former corporate governance roles have included Member Director of a range of subsidiary companies including QCN Fibre.

  • Dr Julie Beeby – Non-Executive Director

    Julie has more than 30 years’ experience in the energy and resources sector. She has technical, operations and strategy expertise and has held senior and executive positions in coal mining, mining services and coal seam gas, after commencing her career in coal, mineral processing and environmental research.

    She is currently an Independent Director and Chair of ElectraNet Pty Ltd, a Non‐Executive Director of Whitehaven Coal Ltd and a member of the Queensland Financial Provisioning Scheme Advisory Panel. Julie has previously held non‐executive director positions including the Boards Powerlink Queensland (as Chair for the last four years of her tenure), Zerogen, Gloucester Coal, Forge Group, CRC Mining, Australian Coal Association Low Emissions Technology and Australian Coal Research.

    Her qualifications include Bachelor of Science (Hons), PhD in Physical Chemistry, and Master of Business Administration. Julie is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering.

  • Cheryl Hopkins – Non-Executive Director

    Cheryl has accumulated more than 35 years’ experience in the Australian energy industry, working in executive positions across the supply chain in retail, wholesale, upstream gas, networks, and strategic risk and governance. Cheryl’s diverse experience includes leading transformational change within large private businesses and government-owned corporations who operate in highly competitive energy markets.

    Cheryl is currently Deputy Chair of Jacana Energy and Chair of the Jacana Energy Audit and Risk Committee. Cheryl holds a Graduate Certificate (Management), Master of Business Administration through Macquarie Graduate School of Management and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

TasNetworks Leadership Team

  • Seán Mc Goldrick – Chief Executive Officer

    Seán commenced as CEO with TasNetworks in August 2021.  Prior to his appointment, Seán was a senior executive in the utility industry, having served at managerial and board level for energy organisations worldwide. He joined the executive team at TransGrid in 2019 and was responsible for overseeing the delivery of several major transmission projects across NSW and the ACT.

    Seán was Executive Manager of Asset Management at Western Power, where he was responsible for a $10.2 billion transmission and distribution asset and managed to reduce capital expenditure sustainably by $170m per annum. Seán also worked as Director of Parsons Brinkerhoff’s Networks Business covering Europe, Middle East and Africa, and is a former General Manager of the Single Electricity Market Operator (SEMO). 

    With more than 30 years’ experience working on Electrical Power Systems globally, Seán has acquired expertise in the research and development, construction, operation, consultancy, planning and asset management of large-scale power systems. He has acted as consultant on many EU, World Bank and EBRD funded projects and his experience includes working and consulting for power utilities, transmission system operators and regulators in Australia, Europe, North America and Africa. 

    Seán's qualifications include BA (Mathematics), BAI (Engineering), PhD (Molecular Phyics).

  • Andrew Davis – Executive Digital, Strategy and Customer

    Andrew, has built an outstanding reputation in the energy sector as a senior commercial executive with a specific focus on delivering customer value via innovation. Over a 25 year career, he has worked in over 30 markets globally, working with governments, agencies, tertiary institutions and investors on strategic, commercial, government and environmental issues.

    Prior to joining TasNetworks in early 2022, as Executive Transformation, Digital & Strategy, he worked at Jemena for four years in multiple Executive roles.  Andrew has previously been General Manager Retail, for the fuel company Viva Energy Australia (the Shell brand in Australia). During this time Andrew, led Australia’s largest retail fuels business based on market share and turnover (in excess of $5.5B). Prior to this, Andrew was Shell’s Global Retail Innovation, CVP and Sustainability Manager and held multiple senior roles both in Australia and overseas in the Shell Retail business.

    Andrew, is a current Board member of the Royal Hobart Hospital Research Foundation. Prior to this he has been a board member of the Electricity and Water Ombudsman Victoria and the  Electric Vehicle Council of Australia. In addition he is on several commercial advisory committees including Start-up Boot-camp and Monash University’s “Digital Energy Future”. Andrew, is passionate about building greater trust between the energy sector and its customers.

  • Caroline Wykamp - CEO Marinus Link

    The Board has appointed Caroline Wykamp as the Interim CEO of Marinus Link.  Caroline is an authority in the energy markets with over 25 years’ experience spanning wholesale, retail and renewable markets. She has been the CEO of two start-ups including her own start up business.

     She has had senior positions with large commercial organisations Origin Energy and Jemena.  Caroline will commence on Wednesday 18 January and be supported by Bess, until Bess formally leaves the business in April.

  • Michael Westenberg – Executive Finance and Regulation

    Since 2008, Michael has led large-scale technology enabled and organisational change management transformation programs including the implementation of TasNetworks’ Ajilis SAP program.

    Michael’s 19 years of leadership experience spans general management, program management, business improvement and organisational change management. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Corporate Management from Deakin University.

  • Peter Stuckey – Executive Governance

    Peter has worked throughout the energy industry, both in Australia and internationally, for nearly 20 years. He has worked for developers, gen-tailers, asset managers and contractors across oil & gas exploration, renewable and thermal generation, energy storage, transmission & distribution, and retail.

    Peter is a qualified lawyer and is admitted to practice in both Australia and England & Wales. He has been company secretary and governance advisor to more than a dozen entities in Australia and the United Kingdom.

  • Renee Anderson – Executive People and Transformation

    With over 15 years’ experience as a senior HR executive, Renee joined TasNetworks from the Tasmanian Department of Health, where she was the Chief People Officer.

    Renee has previously worked in the mining, engineering and energy sectors, both locally and internationally, and holds a Bachelor of Business (Management).  

    Renee is active in the community, volunteering HR expertise to a number of community organisations and is a Director on Carers Tasmania and Care2Serve Boards.

  • Ross Burridge – Executive Operations

    Ross joined TasNetworks from Hydro Tasmania where he was most recently Acting Chief Financial Officer.

    An active community member and sports administrator, Ross was the National Chairman of Little Athletics and is a former Vice Chairman of the Tasmanian Racing Club. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce.
