TasNetworks was created to serve and support Tasmanians.

Our proud history of renewable energy infrastructure dates back over 100 years and we continue to lead the way delivering Tasmania’s clean energy future.

Our goal is to deliver electricity that’s safe, reliable and affordable to all Tasmanians, and the businesses that drive our economy.

Our transmission and distribution network spans the state, connecting more than 295,000 valued residential, commercial and industrial customers to 30 hydro-electric power stations, five wind farms and one thermal power station.

And we are investing in new projects to unlock cleaner, cheaper and more reliable energy for Tasmania.

These new projects include the North West Transmission Developments, vital infrastructure to enable the proposed Marinus Link electricity and telecommunications interconnector between Tasmania and Victoria.

But we are so much more than poles, cables and wires.

Our engineers are designing future transmission pathways to carry more electricity produced by wind, sun and water – a smarter grid – to help transition our wider communities to cleaner forms of energy.

We are embedding environment and sustainability practices across our business, ensuring care for the environment in everything we do, so we can secure a sustainable future for generations to come.

We are protecting cultural heritage values and positive biodiversity outcomes.

Our business partners with a variety of community groups, helping them to power on and help those who need it the most.

Because hard work, bright ideas and simply getting through each day requires a little, or a lot of energy.

So when you need to power on, or push forward, we’ll be right there with you.
