Self Read Program
TasNetworks Self Read Program is no longer available.
We would like to thank you for your participation in the TasNetworks Self Read program, and remind you that this program is no longer active.
The decision to end the program was due to the introduction of advanced metering to the state in 2017, which has given retailers’ the ability to offer customers more viable options for getting their meters read. The majority of advanced meters are read remotely and do not require our meter readers to access your property.
Please contact your retailer to discuss your meter read options and/or arrange to have an advanced meter installed.
What if I am due to submit a read?
You will no longer be able to submit a read thought the Self Read tool. From 1 July, 2020 TasNetworks meter readers will attempt to read your meter as part of our scheduled quarterly reading rounds (until an advanced meter has been installed). To obtain a true read meter readers will require clear, safe access to your meters and will follow the TasNetworks dog policy as well as the recently introduced COVID-19 risk assessments.
If we are unable to safely access the meters, your readings will be estimated based on your previous consumption using Australian Energy Regulators approved methodology.
