Sharing culture and stories through art at Mornington Training Centre

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open for Tasmanian Aboriginal artists to design and deliver a mural on an external-facing wall at our Mornington Training Centre.

The project will bring Tasmanian Aboriginal artwork into the training centre environment, creating a visible expression of respect for Tasmanian Aboriginal cultures, histories and connection to Country.

It will also support a safe, inclusive and culturally respectful learning environment for students, employees, training providers and visitors.

This is an opportunity for a Tasmanian Aboriginal artist to share their creativity, perspectives and stories through a meaningful and highly visible piece of artwork that enhances the training centre and contributes to a strong sense of place.

The project may also include associated landscape and sculpture elements that complement the mural and further enrich the space.

Artwork will be informed by local context and developed through a considered and inclusive process. Community and stakeholder input may help shape the design direction where appropriate, ensuring the finished work reflects local culture, character and connection.

Tasmanian Aboriginal artists interested in submitting an EOI are encouraged to review the Artist EOI Pack for more information about the project, artwork requirements and submission process. Questions or requests for additional information can be directed to anita.abetz@tasnetworks.com.au.
