Bright Futures Fund

What does a bright future look like for your community?

TasNetworks' North West Transmission Developments (NWTD) project is investing $10 million to communities across the north and north west through the Bright Futures Fund (BFF).

For projects big and small, your community ideas can come to life.

The BFF will deliver benefits across six key focus areas:

  • Health and wellbeing
  • Environmental enhancement
  • Community infrastructure and services
  • Arts and events
  • Skills and education
  • Fostering a strong sense of community.

An Independent Community Assessment Panel (ICAP) will assess applications to help ensure local voices guide how funding is directed.

The BFF is planned to launch alongside stage 1 construction activities.

To be eligible, projects must take place in one of the five local government areas located within the NWTD project area: Burnie City, Central Coast, Kentish, Meander Valley and Northern Midlands.

More information coming soon… sign up to the NWTD newsletter to be first to know!

A seat at the table for the next generation

We’re looking for a young person (aged 18–24) to join the Bright Futures Fund (BFF) Independent Community Assessment Panel

If you live or work in Burnie, Central Coast, Kentish, Meander Valley or Northern Midlands, this is your chance to help shape how our $10 million community fund is invested – and ensure it reflects the needs of young people in the region.

The BFF was born from a Youth Panel, and now we want that voice to continue shaping outcomes for future generations. Whether you’re eligible yourself or know a young person who might be, we encourage you to get involved or share this opportunity within your networks.
