Lance was appointed CEO of TasNetworks on 14 October 2013. He previously held executive management positions at Hydro Tasmania, most recently that of Chief Financial Officer. Lance holds a Bachelor of Commerce, is a Director of Energy Networks Australia (and is the Chair of its Transmission Committee), is a member of the Australian Energy Market Commission Reliability Panel, is a Director of Liferaft Systems Australia and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Phillippa joined TasNetworks from Hydro Tasmania, where she had worked since 2005, most recently in the role of Deputy General Counsel. A solicitor with more than 12 years' post-admission experience, Phillippa previously worked in private practice, where she specialised in commercial litigation. She holds a combined Bachelor of Arts/Laws degree.
Ross joined TasNetworks from Hydro Tasmania, where, during a 31-year career with that company, he was most recently Acting Chief Financial Officer. An active community member and sports administrator, Ross was the national chairman of Little Athletics for six years and is a former vice chairman of the Tasmanian Racing Club. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce.
Bess joined TasNetworks from Transend Networks, where she was most recently Executive Manager Corporate Strategy and Compliance during her 13 years with the business. Bess has 20 years' experience in the utilities sector, focusing on business strategy, stakeholder relations, regulation and compliance. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning and is an active member of many professional associations.
Justine joined TasNetworks from the beverage and food company, Lion Nathan, where she was Culture and Change Director – Supply Chain. She has extensive experience across the corporate sector in strategic people and culture leadership, and transformational change. She has an honours degree in psychology and a Masters of Business Administration.
Michael (Mike) Paine
Mike joined TasNetworks from Southern Water, where, as CEO, he was responsible for the development and delivery of three strategic and financial plans for the business. His early career was in engineering and local government, before he moved into the utilities sector. Mike has a Bachelor of Engineering and has completed post-graduate studies in engineering management.
Wayne joined TasNetworks from Transend Networks, where his most recent role was as General Manager Transmission Operations. He has been heavily involved in the energy sector in Tasmania since beginning his electrical mechanic apprenticeship with the then Hydro-Electric Commission in 1984. Wayne holds a Masters of Business Administration.
