Our expenditure projects

TasNetworks develops and maintains the network to provide reliable services to customers. The number of development projects has continued to reduce in recent years in response to reduced electricity demand. Some projects have been deferred or cancelled as we adjust to a lower growth outlook.

Major network capital projects 2014-2019

Below is a lists the major committed and proposed network projects with an estimated cost of more than $10 million that have been completed or are scheduled for completion from this financial year to 2019.

George Town Substation 110 kV redevelopment 

Replace aging assets to reduce maintenance costs and improve reliability.
Estimated cost $M1: 11
Completion date: August 2015 

Rosny Park Zone Substation  

Part of the Eastern Shore Electricity Supply Upgrade Project. This project will relieve marginal conditions at the Lindisfarne Terminal substation and cater for forecast load growth.
Estimated cost $M1: 11
Completion date: February 2017
