Schedule contract details
Standard terms and conditions apply to all new electricity connections and before applying for a new connection, prospective you need to read and accept the connection contract terms and conditions. The standard Electricity Connection Contract should be read in conjunction with the schedule contract relating to the type of new connection being requested, because together the two contracts form the connection agreement between us and you.
Connection fees
We're responsible for delivering power to Tasmanian homes and businesses, including establishing new connections. The following prices are the fees charged by us for the provision of basic connections to the distribution network. The fees reflect the average time taken to travel to your premises, the time typically spent on site when undertaking each type of connection service, the materials used and the support vehicles needed to do each job.

Basic connection services
We offer 16 types of basic connection services for you or generators requesting connection to the distribution network, which include model standing offer terms and conditions.

Standard connection service
None offered at this time.
Negotiated connection service
Covers all other new connections that are not basic connection services and includes connection alterations. Negotiated connections will be assessed under our Chapter 5A process.

We provide connection services for those requesting to connect generators to the distribution network. For more information, please view our embedded generation page.
Charging for new connections
Where the request for a new or modified basic connection is made by you, a property developer or your electrical contractor, we'll bill the you/the applicant directly once the requested connection has been established.
If the connection is requested by an electricity retailer on your behalf (as is usually the case in relation to new or modified connections to support the fitment of solar panels, for example) we may bill your electricity retailer who will then bill you for the connection service. In these cases, the final connection fee may differ from the charges published above.
