Powerline inspections

Tasmania has a large network of powerlines across the state. We use helicopters to inspect our powerlines. They can sometimes be slow and sometimes hover at low levels.

It can be noisy, but it's also really important.

By undertaking inspections of powerlines, we're aiming to reduce the risk of bushfires and unplanned power outages.

Over the next few months we'll be carrying out transmission line inspections in the following areas:

Launceston

1-9 October 2018

Devonport

9-16 October 2018

Tullah

16-18 October 2018

Smithton

18-19 October 2018

Hobart

29 October - 2 December 2018*

Launceston

2-14 December 2018

Devonport

7-11 January 2019

Tarraleah

11-13 January 2019

Strathgordon

Dates and locations may change due to weather and other unforeseen factors.

We're working to complete the inspections as quickly as possible, to avoid disruption to residential areas and minimise disturbances to livestock.
